Proven Vision and Innovation for Arizona’s Future.

Arizona State House | Legislative District 2

Let’s expand opportunity and continue Arizona’s legacy of innovation and prosperity.

Meet Justin wilmeth.

Justin is a committed, limited government conservative with an innovative vision for Arizona’s future.

In his early life, during the challenges and triumphs of the Reagan era, Justin developed a heart for conservative principles that have produced abundant prosperity. He was born in West Texas, where his family operated farmland and his father worked in the oil industry. He comes from a long line of tough, hardworking folks who instilled in him the importance of commitment, loyalty and understanding. Justin’s time on the family farm taught him the importance of pro-business, low-regulatory policy and what it means for economic prosperity.

Justin got his start in politics when he helped a friend run for office in 2004. Since then, he has served in various grassroots and policy positions in Oklahoma before moving to Phoenix to serve as a policy advisor for the Republican Caucus in the Arizona House of Representatives. Justin is a graduate from Arizona State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science as well as a Master’s in Public Administration.

Between his life experiences and education, Justin has proven to be an adept state legislator. He first won election to the House in 2020. In only one term at the Arizona House of Representatives, he was the prime sponsor of 18 bills that were signed into law. He set a record in the 2021 legislative session, seeing a whopping 8 of his sponsored bills signed into law, a first-year freshman record.

Justin is proud to live in the Deer Valley area, a proud transplant who chose to make Arizona home because of its freedom and opportunity. He’s running for re-election to ensure the Grand Canyon State stays that way!

✓ Pro-Growth Policy for a Strong Economy

We need a strong economy to secure Arizona’s future. Which means we need common-sense, pro-growth policy that is friendly to business and commerce. By removing regulatory barriers, reducing tax burdens, and creating an environment where businesses can thrive, we are guaranteed to shatter all our expectations for growth.

As your Representative, I will work to cut taxes, remove regulations, and pass legislation that is friendly to business and commerce. When we get the government out of the way, prosperity will follow, and our state will thrive.

✓ Improve Transportation Infrastructure for a Growing State

There’s no doubt that Arizona is growing. Our economy is booming, our population is skyrocketing, and our culture is thriving. To respond to such exponential growth, we need to ensure that our transportation infrastructure – like roads and bridges – can meet the demands of an expanding state.

As your Representative, I will work to pass legislation to improve our transportation infrastructure that responds to the demands of our growing population.

✓ Secure Borders for Safe Communities

The safety of our communities is at risk. Our border is wide open, bringing in record amounts of drug and human trafficking. You deserve better. It is absolutely imperative we secure our border, end illegal immigration, and support our law enforcement and border patrol.

As your Representative, I will fight to secure our border, end human trafficking, keep crime out of our neighborhoods, and get fatal drugs out of Arizona. It’s long past time for common-sense solutions that defend our sovereignty and ensure our security.

✓ Parents’ Rights, Accountability, and Transparency for High Quality Education

2021 was the year we woke up to madness happening in our school districts. Our education system needs some serious reform. We need transparent curriculum, accountable school boards, assurance that our taxpayer money is being spent wisely, and expanded access to high-quality education options. This is clear – you have the right to be involved in your child’s education.

As your Representative, I will ensure you have a say in your child’s education. I will pass legislation that demands accountability from our school boards, require curriculum transparency, expand high-quality education options, and ending the teaching of Critical Race Theory and other woke ideologies. The classroom is a place for learning, not indoctrination.

✓ Restoring Confidence in our Elections and our Institutions

Finally, we need to restore confidence in our elections and our democratic institutions. In 2020, many folks, left and right, lost confidence in their vote - and understandably. We can change that by closing loopholes and passing  common-sense election integrity policies that makes it easier to vote and harder to cheat.

As your Representative, I will ensure that you can be confident in your vote once again by passing common-sense election integrity bills that will make it harder to cheat. I will work to restore confidence in our democratic institutions.

Justin’s Record

Since I was first elected to the Arizona legislature in 2020, I have accomplished many important policy measures for Arizonans. In total, I’ve had 29 bills signed into law, including 11 by Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs. That number is so high because it shows I’m willing to work across the aisle to bring common sense solutions to our great state. And, as chairman of one of the most powerful committees in the Legislature, the House Commerce Committee, I was able to push through many pro-growth, pro-commerce measures to help the economic climate in Arizona – as well as stop proposed legislation that would have destroyed your ability to thrive.

2024

(Professional Employer Organization; Repeal): Lifted burdensome regulations and removed unnecessary red tape in order for businesses to function better for Arizonans looking for work.

HB 2252

(Arizona Space Commission): Created the new Arizona Space Commission, an entity which is charged with attracting top-level space commerce and technology companies to make Arizona its base of operations. Its long-term goal is the creation of a spaceport capable of launching rockets into Earth orbit.

HB 2254

(State Planet; Pluto): Officially designated Pluto as Arizona’s State Planet. Discovered in Flagstaff in 1930, the find made worldwide news and literally put the young state of Arizona on the map in astronomy circles. Claiming Pluto as Arizona’s planet commemorates the state’s rich space history while engaging school-aged kids on the wonders of space exploration.

HB 2477

(Tipped Workers; Wages): Played an instrumental role in the House as Commerce chairman in amending language on this measure, which aims to protect the hard-earned wages of Arizona’s tipped employees. This will appear on the November ballot as Prop. 138 – the “Tipped Workers Protection Act.”

SCR 1040

2023

(Cosmetology Instructors): Removed barriers for cosmetologists with one year of experience in another state to enjoy license reciprocity to practice in Arizona, making it easier for new Arizonans to keep their career going in their new home.

HB 2199

(Economic Opportunity; Industrial Development Authority): Continued the Office of Economic Opportunity for another four years. The OEO has played an important part in Arizona’s economic rise and it has helped to created thousands of new job opportunities for Arizonans statewide.

HB 2209

(Condominiums; Insurance Coverage; Claims): Modified property insurance requirements to allow a condo owner to report a loss under the Condo Owners Association master property insurance policy, which protects individuals from huge insurance costs.

HB 2251

(Wills; Electronic Signatures; Requirements): Updated and modernized the law to allow for witnesses of will signings to be present electronically (Zoom, etc.) which allows for greater flexibility for Arizonans at a difficult time.

HB 2197

2022

HB 2049

(Fingerprint Care Facilities Requirements): Updated and strengthened rules for volunteers at residential care facilities, making your elder loved ones safer.

HB 2488

(Uyghurs Forced Labor Contract Prohibition): Banned companies who use Uyghur slave labor in China from keeping contracts with the state of Arizona, taking a stand against Communist Chinese slavery programs.

HB 2490

(Pharmacists Collaborative Practice Agreement): Removed unnecessary regulations and streamlined how pharmacists can operate, improving consumer access to much-needed drug therapies and disease management.

HB 2679

(Employment Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Improvements): Created new provisions to protect employees at small companies from discrimination and sexual harassment, helping Arizonans to enjoy a safer workplace without threat of retribution.

HB 2823

(Veterans Tuition Waiver Eligibility): Updated rules to allow for veterans who made a non-violent mistake to become eligible for state tuition waiver assistance, allowing Arizona’s bravest to attain an affordable education and improve their lives.

2021

HB 2542

(Veteran Suicide Report Improvements): Created a better system to compile information to track military veterans in tough spots to help prevent Arizona’s bravest from taking their lives via suicide.

HB 2544

(Blockchain Committee): Commissioned a group to determine how the state of Arizona can best implement this revolutionary online security apparatus, which will make personal, academic, health care, credit records and voting information impossible to steal.

HB 2547

(Dental Hygienists Affiliated Practice): Removed regulatory burdens for practicing dental hygienists, helping to increase access to improved dental care for Arizonans.

HB 2697

(Health Spa Contract Reform): Removed burdensome consumer restrictions on gym contracts that prevented Arizonans from canceling memberships in a modern fashion, forever deleting the “impossible to cancel” gym contract that has annoyed everyone at some point.

As a legislator, I’ve worked to ensure that Arizona is open for business, our commerce expanded, and your individual liberties defended. You can see a list of my sponsored bills in the House here.
