SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Grand Canyon State is home to a positive economic climate, low taxes and an affordable standard of living. Justin Wilmeth plans to ensure that’s the case for years to come.

“I love Arizona to my core,” Wilmeth said. “This is an amazing place where opportunities thrive and people enjoy a beautiful place to live while not being weighed down by burdensome regulations or a heavy-handed state government. People are moving here in droves because it’s an easier place to do business, resulting in more jobs and a higher standard of living than in other states.”

“I want to ensure that positive economic climate exists in Arizona for many years to come. That’s why, today, I’m proud to announce my intention to seek a seat in the Arizona House of Representatives in Legislative District 15 in 2020. With my background in policy and governance, I will be able to hit the ground running and advocate for sound economic principles from day one.”

Wilmeth got his start in politics and government in 2004 in Oklahoma. While there, he worked in grassroots politics and state policy, immersing himself in the process and learning how state laws impact citizens. Enticed by Arizona’s thriving economy and opportunities, Wilmeth relocated to Scottsdale. He was privileged to serve at the Arizona House of Representatives as a policy advisor for the Republican caucus and was provided with frequent opportunities to learn about the needs and priorities of Arizonans across the state.

“I’m running because Arizonans need a state that is friendly to business, commerce, and their individual liberties,” Wilmeth said. “I am a limited government conservative with a vision to reform and innovate for Arizona’s future. If elected, I will govern in a way that reflects my principled conservative values to tackle the current issues while also looking ahead to ensure Arizona is an amazing place to live for decades to come.”

He aligns himself with conservative fighters like current state Rep. Nancy Barto, from whom he has earned strong support. Wilmeth said he admires Barto’s record of consistent, conservative leadership for freedoms and values.

In turn, Rep. Barto, who is running in the Republican primary for the 15th district’s State Senate seat said of Wilmeth: “Justin brings a needed blend of fresh energy and conservative credentials. I’m pleased to endorse him for Arizona State House in the 15th district. I look forward to serving with another strong conservative in the Arizona legislature as we work together to defend our freedoms and values for the sake of our kids and grandkids.”

Wilmeth is running for one of two open House seats in LD15 since Barto announced her candidacy for the state Senate and state Rep. John Allen is term-limited.
